Name: Cheeba Chews
From: Colorado Dispensaries
Type: Indica, Sativa, and Hybrid
If you have been looking for a consistently potent edible in Colorado, then look no further. Cheeba Chews claim to produce the strongest edible in the state and as far as dedicated edible manufacturers go, I would have to agree. They are a “chocolate taffy” that are akin to a Tootsie Roll and contain hash oil. All aspects are made in-house to ensure they have “100% safe and solvent-free edibles on the market.” The candies come in Sativa, Indica, or Hybrid and can be Double or Quad-Dose strengths. They can be found at a variety of dispensaries throughout the state and if your local dispensaries do not carry this product, demand that they go to www.cheebachews.com to get some.
Cheeba Chews impress me for a variety of reasons. We’ll begin with the first thing you’ll see when you purchase one: the label. The labels on Cheeba Chews are colorful as well as informative. They include an ingredients list, how much concentrated marijuana is included, and now the amount of THC per chew. Having information like the ingredients list is important to those with food allergies, diabetes, ect. One issue I have is that the flavor of Cheeba Chews is intoxicating all on its’ own. It is so good that I want to eat the whole thing, but I know that would take me to the danger zone (ty-ty sleepytime). The flavor of marijuana can be treated much like connoisseurs treat wine or chocolate. The combination of the chocolate and hash oil in Cheeba Chews tastes so good it makes me want to believe in fate.
If Cheeba Chews did not sound great already, let me give you another factoid: CHEEBA CHEWS WILL GET YOU INCREDIBLY MEDICATED! Keeping in mind that edibles will vary from batch to batch, these chews are very consistent with their potency. A Quad-Dose contains around 80mg of activated THC, according to recent lab tests. To compare, a “Double-Dose” Keef Cola only has 12mg of THC. The only other product that I can compare them to are Space Cakes, but those are only offered at one location. Another feature to point out with Cheeba Chews is the method of delivery of the THC. A medicated soda or brownie will have most of its active constituents processed by the digestive tract, which can slow down the the onset of the effects. A sucker, or Cheeba Chew, can be absorbed through the mouth and under the tongue, initiating a more quick onset. The size to potency ratio on these is great for people that need heavy medication because it allows them to get the proper dosage without having to consume a large amount of ganga food which are usually sweets. Something to consider with edibles is that a lot of factors contribute to how well you will feel the effects, like your size, what you have eaten, and tolerance. It is for this reason that the makers of Cheeba Chews do not recommend you eat a whole one on your first go-around (I tried on my second and couldn’t hang).
I think Cheeba Chews are a much needed product in the Colorado Cannabis community. Their consistency needs to be used as a model for other edible manufacturers in the state. These things taste so good they’ll have you wondering how they got so much goodness in them. If you come across some Cheeba Chews, do yourself a favor and grab a few so that you can have your mind sufficiently blown.
