Located conveniently just off of 6th Ave in Denver’s western suburb of Golden, Rocky Mountain Organic Medicine has a sleek and professional new retail storefront that really sets the bar high for other dispensaries in the area. Though the new location opened Labor Day weekend of 2011, they have been in business for over 2 years now- and that being said; this truly is one of the best medical marijuana centers west of Denver. From pulling into the parking lot to walking out with my medicine, I have always had a great experience here.
As you pass the Jefferson County Fair Grounds on Orchard Street, you will quickly see that the parking lot here is shared and very spacious. The office building is also shared but Rocky Mountain Organic Medicine has the entire main floor all to themselves. Once inside the building there is a small waiting room and check-in desk where an employee (or the owner, John) will check you in and escort you to the back room. If you have never been in before the process to get your information on file with them is one of the quickest around and will take less than 5 minutes.
The back room is very spacious and brightly lit with tons of natural sunlight! The natural sunlight really makes this room one of the best in the area- all of that natural sunlight really lets the buds shine. From my experience, I would say that on any given day they have close to 25 strains available, a few types of clones, lots of hash and around 20 different varieties of cannabis infused edibles. Rocky Mountain Organic Medicine also has a microscopic camera hooked-up to display close-up shots of the buds that they have on hand; always nice to know that a dispensary is confident in their medicine!
As a testament to how great the medicine here is – last fall I picked up a strong sativa known as Casey Jones (Trainwreck x Thai x Sour Diesel) and I still can’t stop talking about it! Also, recently I was able to sample their Tangerine Haze, and I must say; the high that I get from this is also top tier. The best thing about all of the cannabis available here is that they are always 100% organic and soil grown! Even if Rocky Mountain features medicine from another shop- they make sure that it is up to par with their high standards to provide only natural and organic bud.
